Fit
Measured charts taken from the manufacturer’s own tables. Measure your animal before you order — a size up is not always the safer choice.
Sizing by weight is the reason most pet clothing and harnesses go back. Two dogs of the same weight are rarely the same shape. Take three measurements and you will not need to return anything.
What you need
A soft tailor’s tape, or a piece of string and a ruler. Measure with your pet standing, not sitting, and keep the tape flat against the coat — not pulled tight, not loose.
Harnesses and coats
- Neck girth — around the base of the neck where a collar sits, not up under the jaw.
- Chest girth — around the widest part of the ribcage, just behind the front legs. This is the measurement that decides the size.
- Back length — from the base of the collar to the base of the tail. This decides coat length only, never harness size.
The fit test: two fingers should slide flat under every strap. If you can fit three, it will twist. If you can barely fit one, it will rub.
Between two sizes? Go up for coats and jumpsuits. For harnesses, go up only if the chest measurement is the one at the boundary — a loose harness is a harness a dog reverses out of.
Beds and dens
Measure your pet lying stretched out, nose to tail base, and add 15 cm. Beds are far more often too small than too large. For an enclosed den, measure curled and check the entrance is wide enough that your pet does not have to squeeze — most cats will simply refuse.
Carriers
Standing height at the shoulder plus a few centimetres of headroom, and body length nose to tail base. Your pet should be able to stand, turn around and lie down. For flights, confirm the exact cabin dimensions with your airline first — the rules differ by carrier and route and change often, and no product description is a substitute for checking.
Bowls
Width matters more than depth for cats: whiskers touching the sides of a narrow bowl is a real reason a cat walks away from food. A wide, shallow bowl solves it.
Measurements by product
All figures are the garment’s intended fit, in centimetres. Measure your pet first, then match the chest girth — it is the measurement that decides the size.

Sized by weight
